Stay Classy SNW!

San Diego’s anchormen will hopefully notice that one of the top IT conferences is taking place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt of their city next week.

For the storage IT community, Storage Networking World  has become a key biannual event in the US, and at least once a year in other parts of the world such as Australia, China, Europe and Japan. Why? Well I think that overtime SNW has given Storage Users and IT professionals a quite unique formula to hear and meet with people from different horizons as well as having an opportunity to see and touch some concrete solution realizations. Industry experts, high calibre analysts and consultants, CxO’s but also storage administrators and IT managers have a real opportunity to passionately chat about their experiences, industry trends & myths but also to focus on their businesses. Other conferences do also have other interesting points, but what I think I like in SNW is that you have a choice since many IT industry components are represented. Just take a look at this Spring’s agenda:
You will find an impressive list of unique industry tutorials (Great Job SNIA!) and very interesting conference tracks on Storage & Grid, End-Users testimonials, Data Classification, Data Protection, Security…as well as useful industry analyst
updates…I don’t forget the keynotes speeches, but for a conference like SNW, a top quality mainstage is always expected.

Wapark A key differentiator for this event has always been the Interoperability Lab – now renamed Solution Centre – and the Hands-On Lab where visitors can see and learn about storage networking technologies, true prototyped or marketed solutions at work with experts nearby to explain what it’s all about…That’s what allowed SNIA to demonstrate
the value of standards like SMI-S for Storage Management.

Kudos to my colleagues Pierre Raymond, Steve Quinn and to the rest of our SNW team for having worked hard once again to prepare outstanding demos for the Solutions Centre in the areas of Storage Management, Data Management and Virtualization. So if you go to SNW, please take the time to visit the Solution Centre!

There might be an opportunity to meet on site, let me know. See you in San Diego!

Stay Classy SNW.

Welcome back to the states Vincent. Looking at the SNW agenda there is quite a line up of tracks and events. Be sure to take some pics of solution center for those of us who can’t attend.

Also, I always make it a point to get some San Diego style fish tacos when in town.
