The Transformers Museum – A Geek-Out Experience

by Michael Hay on August 12, 2010

transformers-muesum-f2So this post is not about storage, unless you count the box that my newly acquired Optimus Prime action figure came in, but about my wife an I going to the Transformers Museum.  Perhaps due to growing up in the 1980s, but I do feel a bit of nostalgia for the Transformers in many ways: the toys, the original animated series, the first movie, and now as two live action movies — yes I will see Transformers 3 when it comes out.  At the museum were two human scale rather large action figures of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime as well as a new yellow Camaro which was supposed to be the car form of Bumblebee — you’ll have to excuse the lack of a photo of the car, but if you’ve seen one new Camaro then you’ve seen all of them in my opinion.  Also at the museum was kind of an action figure history with several unique transformers.  For example there is/was a transformer that changed into a shoe, a black and white version of Optimus Prime, a really cool version of Megatron and Unicron all of which I have never personally seen before, see below.

Maybe because I never owned Optimus as a child and I was having a total geek-out I decided to buy the rather large version of Prime which exceedingly good detail.  As soon as I got home we took several photos of Prime with the intention of sharing them here.

In closing I’ve included a YouTube version of Optimus doing the Legend of the Dance, and more generally I want to do a shout out to all of the Transformers fans out there.
