Wii Balance Board Outperforms Advanced Medical Device
by Bill Burns on January 26, 2010
Remember that Wii balance board that is collecting dust under your sofa, well you might just want to start digging around for it again. In a article I first saw on the “The Healthcare IT Guy’s Site” the Wii is being used for certain types of medical therapy.

While at first this type of story attracts a bit of “fun value” any of us whom wrestled away the Wii remote from our kids knows that this little machine records every moment, motion and gesture that my pathetic Wii Tennis performance can deliver. So if personalized care is the future of Healthcare then data analytics is the leading edge of this new frontier. Information gathered from machines like this have the potential to tailor the care we receive and how we interact with it.
Net-net that is a lot of data heading at us from a plethora of different devices, how do we deal with it all?
Well we will talk about that soon!

Great story, good to see at least someone at HDS has a sense of humor.
