Re-Imagining Generosity

In the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake, international relief organizations kicked into high-gear and donations began to flow. In this age of “click-and-give” however, when the majority of cash donations for everything from disaster relief to political campaigns are made online, it’s increasingly difficult to track the donors or tally the donations. David McCandless, the UK-based author, writer, and designer behind Information Is Beautiful has done just that.
Using data from Relief Web, the Guardian Datablog, and the OECD, McCandless created the infographic below, which communicates a mountain of data with simple, visually-familiar way.
