Save Power, Save Space, Save Money

For the past few months, I have talked to an increasing number of customers who are telling me that power savings is their primary concern in the datacenter. With the recent nuclear disaster in Fukushima, countries around the world are re-evaluating their use of nuclear power, which is 20 to 30% of the power in countries like the United States and Japan, and as high as 90% in France.
If we subtract nuclear from the electrical power equation, the demand and cost for other forms of electrical energy are due to spike in the near future. Facing this uncertainty, the motivation for saving and optimizing our electrical power is not so much about being a green corporate citizen, but of saving costs and business survival.
