HCAP Content Services in 60 Seconds

IDC identifies content data as the fastest growing segment of data in our data centers. Hitachi’s answer to this requirement is HCAP, Hitachi Content Archive. Here is a 60 second video that offers an opportunity for one of our HDS Business Consultants, Jonathan Preston, to present HCAP to a panel of three practicing CIO’s and answer their questions. Sad to say but I would have had a better salesperson. The HCAP is so much better than the Centera which is obviously the only real competitor. Data going onto the Centera must be done by an API. The HCAP is unfortunately its worst enemy. All the applications that can use the Centera are used to using the API. When I asked Symantac to start using the HCAP for Enterprise Vault, the consultant said it could be done and then asked me how to do it. They really don’t want to have to use another system.
