If you only need to migrate data to a new array, the free migration suite is obviously more cost-effective than purchasing UVM. EMC also provides Symmetrix customers unlimited use of Virtual Provisioning at no charge; Hitachi charges for its Dynamic Provisioning based upon capacity.
